The Lord Is Near 2026 calendar

Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. Micah 7:18–19 NKJV

Wonderful, Marvelous Grace

Sad to say, Israel had proven to be like Jacob, her forefather, who confessed to God, “I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of all the truth which You have shown Your servant” (Gen. 32:10). The history of Israel had been one not only of weakness and failure, but also of hardhearted rebellion against the Lord. God had, and has, put Israel through experiences of trouble and sorrow that even the Gentile nations recognize as being excessively beyond what others have endured.

Eventually at least a part of that nation will be awakened to realize and face the enormity of the guilt they have incurred and will turn to the Lord. When they do that, what will they find? Wonderfully, they will find Him far more gracious and good than they have ever imagined Him to be. In fact, His great goodness will effectively lead them to repentance (Rom. 2:4).

The assurance of this kindness and compassion will not be confined to Israel, for Israel is a sample of all mankind. As Israel has sinned, so have all, and all need the same Savior, who will gladly receive everyone who confesses his guilt to the Lord. He will immediately forgive. His anger against the sinner will be fully abated, and He will cast every sin into the depths of the sea to be remembered no more (Mic. 7:19). Wonderful, marvelous grace!

If you are not certain of such forgiveness, then hesitate no longer. Fully trust the Lord Jesus. Believe His Word. Thank Him for His saving grace. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Mt. 11:28).
