This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the Lord, where I will meet you to speak with you. And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by My glory. Exodus 29:42–43 NKJV
It is a wonderful fact to know that a continual fragrance of Christ rises up to God. His Person and His work, that bring endless delight to His God and Father, are the foundation of every blessing. We stand before God, accepted in His beloved Son. When God looks upon Christ in glory, He sees us in Him. When He looks down upon us, He sees Christ in us.
Only after redemption was completed could God speak about His dwelling among His redeemed people. The presence of the Lord in the midst of His people is the crowning glory that sets them apart from this world. Moses said, “How then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth” (Ex. 33:16). It is most important then that we adjust our ways to bring them into line with the One who dwells there and that our eyes be fixed on Him alone. Then the Holy Spirit will be at liberty to exalt the Lord Jesus before us.
Very soon we will see Him in all His beauty, and then we shall be with Him and like Him. What a wonderful day that will be! The Lord will be in the midst of His redeemed, displayed in power and glory. In that day we will reflect His glory in a perfect way. Then every knee shall bow to Him and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Universal praise and worship will be given to the Father and the Son through the countless ages of eternity. Indeed, we long for that day! “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” (Rev. 22:20).
