The Lord Is Near 2023 calendar

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 NKJV

How Good Is Your Vision?

How we view things in life affects the way we live our lives! Perspective is everything. This is true in our spiritual lives as well. The question for us to ponder today is, “How do we see the Lord?” Some see Him as a good man, others as a rejected man. He was indeed all of these. Pilate brought Him out before them and declared, “Behold the Man!” (Jn. 19:5).

But what Pilate did not see and what every unbeliever does not see is the Resurrected Man! Our Lord is no longer the Man on the Cross; He is the resurrected, ascended, glorified Man, sitting at the right hand of the Majesty on high!

In Hebrews 2:9 we read, “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor.” We must see Him as the Man of God’s own choosing who gave His life for us on Calvary, resurrected, ascended, and glorified. Before we can view Him as our object for running the Christian race, we must be in the race!

How do you view the Lord? How intimate is your view of Him? Is He simply a good man to you? Certain Greeks, in John 12:21–32, had desired to “see Jesus” and the Lord answered them. He was the grain of wheat that fell into the ground and died, and because He died, He has brought forth much fruit in resurrection. Do you see Him today as the One who was lifted up from the earth? Does His sacrificial love draw you to Himself? Can you say in your own heart that He is the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me? If so, Hallelujah! What a view you have of Him today!
